Key Features
Larsen Tzigane strings are a rich and smooth-sounding set of strings with an overlay of warmth to the sound. Inspired by Ravel's Tzigane, these strings will settle into your instrument very quickly. Their focus and projection allow them to be extremely playable and enjoyable for many audiences to hear. Two tensions are offered, medium and heavy. The stronger tension offers the highest volume and bow resistance, it is ideal for brighter instruments.

The Tzigane G, D and A strings are made using Larsen's multi-filament nylon core seen in many other Larsen violin strings. The G and D strings are wound with precision rolled silver flat wire, the warmth of this material's sound making it ideal for the lower two strings on the violin. The A string is wound with aluminium, a more appropriate choice for that particular string. The E string, like many other violin E strings, is made of solid carbon steel. The brightness and projection of which is perfect for the top string.
Larsen began in 1990 when Laurits Th. Larsen was tasked with obtaining 300 strings for a colleague. Larsen decided to make the strings himself in his garage. In 18 months his first cello A string was produced. Since then, Larsen has expanded, producing strings for violin, viola, and cello. Larsen provides their strings in a packaged envelope like many strings. What sets Larsen apart is that they are embossed and sealed in their envelopes, ensuring the authenticity and quality of each string from Larsen.
