Key Features
Product Ref: 110414
The Mutable Instruments Plaits is a highly versatile Eurorack synthesis module designed to create a varied palette of tones and sounds. The Plaits module features 16 synthesis models in total, with 8 dedicated models for pitched sounds and 8 for noise and percussion. The ergonomic and sleek layout features annotated controls and an 8-segment level meter for visual monitoring. The Plaits module features two detuned virtual analog oscillators with continuously variable waveforms. It also includes a variable slop triangle oscillator that is processed by a waveshape and wavefolder. The wavetable oscillator provides you with four banks of 8x8 waves, complete with a chord generator and speech synthesis algorithms for maximum versatility. This allows you to optimise your sound design capabilities, allowing you to create everything from Leads to Pads.
In addition to the pitched sounds, the Plaits also features 8 synth models for the generation of noise and percussive sounds. This section boasts a granular sawtooth or sine oscillator with a variable grain density, duration and frequency randomisation. It provides emulation for analog percussion as well, including two flavours of kick drum, snare drum and high-hats. 8 layers of dust.particle noise are also included and processed by resonators or all-pass filters.
In addition to the synthesis functions, the Mutable Instruments Plaits features a wide range of analog connectivity. It features dedicated CV inputs for Timbre, FM, Morph, Synthesis Model Selection, Level CV input. One of the most unique connection is the AUX output, that carries a variant, sidekick or by-product of the main signal. You can also patch both the output and AUX output to Mutable Instruments Warps for sound experimentation.
