Firmware Version 2.0
Behringer have released Version 2.0 of the Pro VS Mini firmware, which comes with expanded polyphony from four voices to five. An Arpeggiator Hold mode lets you keep your arps running while you tweak your sound for a more dynamic and evolving arpeggio. Chord mode that lets you chromatically shift chords across your keyboard. Portamento lets you glide between notes or chords for that smooth, sliding sound. New effects have been added to add even more character to your sounds, with Ensemble and Reverb. A slew of new professionally-designed presets, and an improved model of the original Vector Synth's amplifier section gives you a more authentic sound with better dynamics as well!
Please Note: This product will not come with firmware v2.0 installed and you will need to install this yourself. Without the update, you will have the original polyphony of four voices, the old DCA model, and none of the extra features or presets added by this update.
A digital classic reimagined
A unique spin on wavetable synthesis, Vector Synthesis took the building blocks of early wavetable synths and added four potential shapes that could be blended and interpolated between to add new layers of unique texture to its distinctive early-digital sound. Hybridising this with an analog filter, the first Vector-based synthesizer appeared in 1986. Providing multiple sounds to combine through its oscillator blending, the VS became extremely popular in film scoring, seeing use from Brian Eno, Trent Reznor, Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, and John Carpenter. With the PRO VS MINI, Behringer are recreating this unique and legendary design in a miniaturised format.
Unique and classic textures
The PRO VS MINI offers four voices of polyphony with four waveforms to blend between per voice, and 128 waveforms to blend between. An analog low-pass filter helps add more control to your tone, with a built-in chorus for further depth, and expansive modulation options from two LFOs and filter, amplifier, and oscillator mixer envelopes to create movement. All rounded out with the distinctive joystick control to blend between the four waveforms of each voice, this pocket synth has all the modulation and sound shaping options of something much larger.
