Key Features
Product Ref: 125064
The ADI-2 Pro FS, Black Edition is a special edition of the renowned audio interface and digital converter. It retains all the features and functionality that made the original so sought-after. The limited-edition design features a sleek black finish. It features a black front plate and is limited to 500 units.
The RME ADI-2 Pro FS provides a host of connections. It comes equipped with two servo-balanced analog inputs on combo XLR/TRS jacks, two separate balanced and unbalanced outputs on XLR and TRS, two stereo Extreme Power headphones outputs, an optical SPDIF I/O that also understands ADAT, and AES I/O via an included breakout cable. The RME ADI-2 Pro FS provides flexible connectivity for those wanting nothing but superior audio quality.
The ADI-2 Pro FS features a USB 2.0 port that is fully class compliant, allowing you to connect with compatible iOS devices. As a computer interface the ADI-2 Pro FS provides a stereo and multi-channel mode and works straight out of the box with Mac OS X. For Windows, the ADI-2 Pro FS uses RME's MADIface series driver.
The ADI-2 Pro FS produces nothing but reference-quality sound for all those audiophiles. The internal power supply and precise regulators use a super-low-noise design as to not degrade performance, while the selected SoundPlus operational amps maintain the highest SNR, lowest THD and high slew rate under all conditions.
The 4-channel AD converter supports 768kHz sample rate and DSD recording. It uses a dual mono design with 3dB improved signal to noise ratio. The ADI-2 Pro FS ensures your sound is always accurate and the best quality, not matter what situation it is used in.
The ADI-2 Pro FS features a new headphone output stage that features the full performance of premium DAC, even when using low impedance headphones. The Extreme Power design offers 0.1 Ohm output impedance, a max output of +22dB and a max power of 1.5W per channel. The RME engineers have produced 2 fully separated stereo headphone outputs that provide the same 120dBa SNR performance as the line output. This provides a hum and noise free listening experience. They deliver the clearest and most detailed sound as possible even at full power.
The headphone outputs also incorporate current limiting, overload detection, DC protection and power surveillance. Additionally, the newly developed Advanced Balanced mode delivers a balanced signal path from the DAC straight to your phone, with 3dB gain in Signal to Noise Ratio optimised frequency response, and super low output impedance.
The ADI-2 Pro FS features 5-band parametric EQs, adjustable bass/treble controls, a binaural crossfeed function, adjustable loudness filter, selectable AD/DA filters, 4 discrete I/O reference levels, auto reference level setting, auto balanced phones mode, and much more.
This can all be controlled by the high resolution display. Additional professional features including M/S processing, stereo width and phase reversal are all included, as well as a 30-band biquad filtered analysis tool for musical visualisation.
The ADI-2 Pro FS is equipped with the latest SteadyClock FS and jitter rejection technology that is based on a femtosecond (one quadrillionth of a second) clock. The SteadyClock FS technology is highly efficient and constantly refreshes and cleans up any clock system, providing you with rock-solid timing and stability, no matter if internal or external clocks are used. This new SteadyClock FS technology brings the intrinsic jitter of the ADI-2 Pro FS to a new all-time low.
The ADI-2 Pro FS is equipped with one of the highly requested features from ADI-2 Pro Hi-Fi customers. When AutoDark mode is active, the RME ADI-2 Pro FS turns off all the illuminated elements except the standby buttons. The lighting comes back on again once any button is pressed or the encoder is turned.
