Mix from Spotify and more – new support for Algoriddim djay app

The DDJ-400 now provides support for the highly versatile djay app from Algoriddim. The djay app is available for iOS, with its bigger sibling djay Pro available for PC/Mac. The djay app links to Spotify Premium, allowing you to access millions of songs spanning every genre. From here, you can stream songs from Spotify and use the DDJ-400 to mix your favourite songs. The onboard controls allow you to speed up and slow down songs, loop, slice and even add FX.

The app also links to rekordbox DJ (Pioneer's professional performance app). If you’re just starting out as a DJ, rekordbox DJ includes a tutorial feature, providing step-by-step instruction on how to setup your controller and mix using your rekordbox library.

Two-channel rekordbox DJ controller

The DDJ-400 is ideal for any aspiring DJ with this professional yet affordable DJ controller. The DDJ-400 is compact and sleek, jam-packed with performance controls and an integrated mixer. The 2-channel design features ultra-responsive jog wheels with low-latency performance. The ergonomic, club-style layout will get you familiarised with the standard design of most DJ controllers. This allows you to progress up to higher-end equipment, without it feeling like you have to completely learn the new design.

The mixer section features 3-band EQ on each channel, allowing you to blend between songs to build your mixing skills. This controller is designed for use with the rekordbox DJ software. The controller comes complete with a free licence for the software, allowing you to get started straight out of the box.

16 performance pads and loop control

As well as the standard mixing controls, the Pioneer DDJ-400 includes a range of performance controls, designed to add flare to your performances. Features which have become standard on modern-day controllers include play/pause and cue buttons, tempo sliders and a loop section. There are also cue/loop call buttons, similar to the ones found on the CDJ-2000NXS2. Each channel features eight performance pads which can be used to trigger FX, shift the key of your song or for triggering samples. Above these are four other buttons: Hot Cue, beat Loop, Beat Jump and Sampler. These more advanced buttons are ideal for use when you have built up your mixing skills for a truly unique style.

Integrated soundcard

One of the most unique features of the DDJ-400 is the integrated soundcard. The soundcard acts as an audio interface for the controller, eliminating the need for external equipment. The plug and play compatibility allows you to connect the controller to your computer and get setup within seconds. The unit is also USB bus powered, meaning the controller is powered via your USB connections on your computer for added convenience.

Compact design with versatile connectivity

The lightweight and compact design makes the DDJ-400 highly portable, perfect for the aspiring DJ on the move.
