Key Features
Product Ref: 86080
The Red distortion pedal features a range of powerful controls that let you shape the pedals tonal properties to suit your playing style. The volume control adjusts the level of output the pedal has, offering plenty of headroom for when the texture switch is set into the most compressed position. The gain dials in the amount of distortion the pedal produces, letting you create heavy overdrive at lower settings, to high gain distortion at maximum.
The bass allows you to cut or boost the bass frequencies at around 100Hz, letting you dial in the perfect amount of low end for your sound. The mid knob lets you cut or boost the midrange frequencies at around 300Hz, offering a scooped mid at lower settings while higher settings provide a more aggressive sound. The treble can be used to cut or boost the high-end frequencies at around 1250Hz, letting you tame any harsh treble frequencies that may occur with heavy distortion.
The engineers at Walrus Audio have infused the Red with 2 different configurations of clipping diodes, letting you choose between two levels of compression. Flicing the texture switch into the up position offers a heavily compressed and saturated tone that’s overdriven-like in nature, perfect for chords and rhythm sections. Flicking the switch into the downward position produces an even more compressed and clipped tone with plenty of headroom, perfect for smooth, singling leads and heavily compressed rhythm work.
