"Retains the original's charm. Improved aesthetics. Decent headroom. Very good overdrive and distortion tones. Excellent feature set and value for money. Overall, we like the decent headroom, warm bottom end and glassy treble of this 6L6-equipped amp."
The Peavey AT-200 Electric Guitar is a revolution in the world of guitars. Incorporating the innovative Antares Auto-Tune system the AT-200 completely tunes itself at the touch of a button allowing guitarists to play for hours without ever falling out of tune. The AT-200 incorporates a basswood body, maple neck, peavey custom designed humbucking pickups and 24 fret rosewood fingerboard to provide the looks and feel of a normal guitar however has the ability to continuously self-tune and intonate as you play saving you valuable time and ensuring you always sound great whether in the studio or on stage.
With the new Auto-Tune for guitar technology, tuning your guitar has never been easier. Simply strum all six strings, trigger 'String Tuning' via the button, and the Peavey AT-200 guitar is instantly in tune. The Virtual Capo function means you can shift pitch both up and down a full octave, so you can play in any key or range. This technology allows you to play open chords in different keys at their traditional positions down at the bottom of the neck.
As well as tuning the strings, the AT-200 also tackles the problem of intonation. Guitarists often struggle to maintain perfect intonation as they move up and down the neck or play more complex chords. To maintain perfect tone with the AT-200 guitar, the Solid-Tune Intonation system constantly monitors the precise pitch of each individual string and makes subtle corrections to ensure a pure tone regardless of finger position or pressure. This is especially ideal for newer plays or when playing faster pieces with a lot of movement. The Solid-Tune Intonation feature of the Peavey AT-200 is intuitive enough to realise when you want to purposefully manipulate the pitch so you can still play bends and use vibrato in the same way as usual. In fact, the Solid-Tune Intonation makes it even easier to bend to the right pitch every single time.
Many guitarists like to utilise alternate tunings such as drop D and the Peavey AT-200 doesn't restrict you to just one. It makes it easy to quickly select from popular alternate tunings as well as some more dramatic tunings that would be physically impossible without this auto-tune guitar. Popular tuning such as double drop D, open D, open G and DADGAD are all available as well as six string bass, split bass/guitar (the bottom string shifted an octave lower) twelve string and an impressive polyphonic octaver. The Peavey AT-200 gives you access to almost any tuning you can imagine, massively increasing your musical range and possibilities, all without ever having to stop and physically retune or swap guitars.
The Peavey AT-200 marks a revolution in technological advancement and a commitment to sound quality. This guitar provides a freedom never before experienced in terms of live performance, empowering guitarists and giving them the ability to play a full show, always in tune with perfect intonation, with multiple tunings, on one single guitar. Producers and sound engineers will also appreciate the time saved in expensive recording studios with no time wasted on tuning and intonation issues during recording sessions. The Peavey AT-200 really could mark the start of a whole new era for guitarists.
