The Maxon RTC600 Real Tube Compressor Pedal delivers a studio-quality compression in a compact Stompbox. Featuring the same patented DBX compression circuit used in Maxon’s popular CP-9 Pro+ pedal, the RTC600 delivers a smooth compression with a very low noise floor that maintains your original tone.
Players can benefit from the full-range frequency response and maximum headroom of up to +30dB of clean gain, which can be used as a booster for solos, or as an attenuator to clean up an already dirty amp. This studio-quality pedal can also be used with other compatible instruments for a superb tone.
Achieving the perfect compressed tone is easy with the choice of five control knobs including Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release and Gain. The Attack and Release controls offer a variety of compression effects ranging from “Brick Wall” limiting to “Soft Knee” compression for the ultimate sound.
Maxon started out in Japan in 1965 under the name Nisshin Onpa, manufacturing guitar pickups before producing OEM products for other companies. Nisshin Onpa was responsible for designing and manufacturing many legendary pedals while working in partnership with Ibanez, including the TS-808/TS808 and TS9 tube screamers. Although many of the pedals Maxon created were released under the Ibanez name, Maxon was producing pedals under their own name, and in 2002 when the two companies parted way, Maxon began to push its name as a manufacturer of high-quality effects pedals. Today Maxon produce "hard-to-find" vintage type effects pedals, and are used by many artists such as Pearl Jam, Troy Van Leeuwen, Steve Stevens, Brad Whitford, and many more.
