Key Features
Product Ref: 111365
The Jet City is driven by 2x 12AX7 preamp valves and 1x 6L6 power amp valve for a wide-open, American-style tone with a glassy response and modern sound - perfect for rock, blues, funk, and much more. The overdrive tone can cover the whole spectrum from clean through to edge of breakup and onto full saturation. The single channel preamp is easy to dial in and perfect for quickly getting a great tone, ready to gig with.
The single channel preamp features a full 3-band EQ and bright switch to sculpt your ideal tone and match your instrument. An additional voicing switch gives you access to a low-boost and a mid-boost sound, letting you either boost the low-end response or cut through the mix with a mid-heavy, solo tone.
The single-channel design is a great platform for players who like to use their guitar pickup choice and control adjustments to modify their tone when using an overdriven preamp. This is common with blues/rock players and is partly the reason why valve amps are so popular - with their musical response and high dynamic range. The Custom 5 is also the ideal setup for pedalboard players, where a few choice booster and overdrive effects can shape your overdrive level based around the core tone of the Custom 5. An additional FX loop allows you to connect your time-based/modulation effects after the preamp, with a circuit design by Mojotone for clarity and optimal response.
The Custom 5 has 5 watts of power, at full, which is the ideal level for band rehearsals and studio sessions, where you can run the amp to its full potential and achieve a glorious power amp overdrive. The 2-watt switch runs the amp in triode mode and is perfect for home practice or quieter recording sessions - allowing you to crank the amp at manageable volume levels.
The Amelia features multiple speaker outputs, ready to integrate with both single and multiple cabinets at 4, 8, and 16 ohms. An additional, tube-buffered FX loop lets you integrate you effects pedals with a warm and transparent tone.
