Tonal flexibility is essential in a jazz-style guitar. The ES-275 is ideal for this, meaning you'll never be held back when it comes to fine tuning your style and sound. MHS humbucking pickups and an MTC Premiere control system with two volumes and two tones give the player lots of choice when it comes to the overall voice of the guitar. This means the ES-275 is more than capable of other styles, too. Murky blues tones, jangly country rock, and funky soul voices are all comfortably within reach. Furthermore, the humbucking pickups are also designed to reduce unwanted feedback. You can be sure you'll only be hearing the notes you intend to play.
Fantastic acoustic warmth is generated by a semi-hollowbody. This allows you to produce a wonderful richness in harmony and brightness in tone with ease. When plugged in, a thermally engineered chambered maple centreblock creates a scintillating, electronic sound. "F" shaped sound holes in the maple and poplar body also give the guitar a beautiful, natural resonance. This makes practice in places where noise might be an issue easy. The ES-275 is perfect for all situations.
The ES-275 is effortless to play. Your hand can glide smoothly to the very top frets thanks to a rounded "C" shaped mahogany neck, designed to perfectly fit the curvature of your hand. You'll never miss a note in a fast scale again. A dark rosewood fingerboard is comfortable to the touch, meaning you can nail every awkward chord you have to play.
A cheap, ill-suited nut can ruin a guitar. The ES-275 has an authentic Gibson bone nut, making it strong, durable, and improving sound quality. The bone nut offers a much increased sustain and tone in comparison to its cheaper plastic counterparts. It also carries the benefit of better maintaining your strings, meaning you won't have the hassle of changing them as often.
The ES-275 has tonnes of quality Gibson heritage. The manufacturers describe it as a "unique take" on one of their "most iconic" styles of guitar: the jazz box. There's a reason the jazz box became so iconic. They had unmatched acoustic warmth, as well as a velvety playing action ideally suited to the smoothness of jazz music. It's no wonder, then, that the models were extensively popular in jazz circles. Heroes of the genre such as BB King, Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery all used Gibson's archtop, jazz box style guitars. Their immense smoothness meant they gained popularity in other musical genres too. Experimentalist Frank Zappa was a fan, and Elvis Presley's guitarist Scotty Moore played a Gibson archtop in the King's legendary '68 Comeback Special. All of this heritage has been instilled into the brilliant ES-275.
This is a truly stunning example of guitarmaking mastery. Gibson's archtop guitars have always looked beautiful. The ES-275 somehow improves on an already brilliant example. The classic curved body gives a distinctive profile, and classic "F" shaped sound holes round off the perfect vintage Gibson image. All of this comes in one of the thinnest archtop models Gibson have released to date. Vintage and streamlined, the ES-275 is in an aesthetic class of its own.
Included with all purchases is an extremely durable, Gibson branded hardshell case. This gives your instrument the absolute maximum protection against damage and wear and tear, meaning you'll be able to enjoy the ES-275 for years and years to come.
