For 2015, Gibson have made significant improvements to their famous 'Tune-O-Matic' bridge. The bridge can now be adjusted quickly using a hex wrench, allowing players to make fast and precise adjustments to the action of their guitar. When combined with the adjustable zero fret nut, the new bridge gives players an unprecedented level of quick set up options.
Formally known as 'Min-E Tune', the Gibson G-Force automatic tuning system offers players the ultimate in quick, precise and stable guitar tuning. With just a couple of button presses and a strum of the guitar strings, G-Force will find the perfect pitch for your desired tuning. Not only there for peace of mind, G-Force will take you between alternate tunings in a matter of seconds, meaning you never have to worry about that awkward song in your set.
Incorporating a set of Burstbucker humbucking pickups designed to recreate the tone of the classic Gibson PAF pickups the Gibson Midtown produces a rich vintage tone. The Burstbucker 1 in the bridge position provides a medium output with a well-rounded and creamy tone due to the alnico magnets and under-wound construction whilst the Burstbucker 2 in the neck position delivers a slightly hotter tone similar to a '57 classic pickups.
Gibson have utilised the German manufactured PLEK machine for many years now - these incredible machines can scan a guitar and apply a perfect, accurate fret dress and action to the guitar. The result is that each Gibson guitar comes out of the box ready to play without any adjustments required. For 2015, Gibson have fine-tuned the PLEK set up, resulting in one of the best feeling electric guitars ever made, with 27 percent lower fret wire across the fingerboard.
