Key Features
Product Ref: 84893
The road worn Jazzmaster features a classic alder body, producing a resonant and balanced tone with plenty of clarity. It is comfortably lightweight so you can play all night long without straining your shoulders. The tonewood delivers a decent amount of sustain, creating bright, sizzling highs, excellently rounded lows, and beefy mids. Fender have used alder as their tonewood of choice since the 1950s, as the balanced response and slight upper middle definition makes it perfect for rock and blues playing.
The solid maple neck provides the Jazzmaster with bright tonal characteristics, tightening up the sound and giving it plenty of cut. The maple delivers a powerfully sharp punch when the strings are hit hard whilst still retaining its clarity to allow each note to sing. The rosewood fingerboard’s naturally oily surface allows any stray overtones to be absorbed into the pours, allowing for a natural fundamental tone. The rosewood also provides the electric guitar with warm, soft tones whilst helping to ‘fur up’ the maple’s natural sound. The neck and fingerboard combination provides the guitar with sparkling, sizzling highs, thick, firm lows, and an open midrange with a snappy attack.
The guitar boasts Fender’s American Vintage '65 single-coil pickups in the bridge and neck, designed to offer classic tones with modern reliability and durability. Wound to precise specifications for authentic, traditional Fender tone and performance, the Vintage pickups offer a classically clean and clear sound with an edgy snarl and beautiful textures.
Featuring a carefully fitted synthetic bone nut, the Road Worn jazzmaster delivers an increased resonance and bright tonality. When compared to traditional plastic and Tusq materials used to construct guitar nuts, synthetic bone improves the vibration transfer between the string and tuning machines without dampening the tone.
The Fender Jazzmaster was originally intended for sophisticated jazz guitarists, and was quickly embraced by musicians who were attracted to its left-of-centre looks and fat sound. The special edition road worn model is based on the specs of a late 50s' Jazzmaster that powered a lot of music from the 1960s to today, and features a full host of premium features.
Each Special Edition guitar is only available for a short time with a limited run of guitars, making them eminently collectible while also adding to its investment value. Crafted with many features normally reserved only for select artists and master-built instruments, these guitars are exactly what their name says - highly anticipated, limited, special edition models.
